Carlos Segade started his teaching career at a private owned school as an English language teacher. He became Assistant Headmaster and member of the Board. As a professor, he reads English Linguistics and Didactics of the English Language at the School of Education of the Centro Universitario Villanueva, accredited to UCM, where he is now Director of the Department of Didactics of Human Sciences.
Carlos Segade holds a PhD in Philology (UNED), MA in Germanic (English) Philology (USC), apart from some management Diplomas specialised in Educational Business Administration (CUV), Educational Advising (CUV) and Human Resources Management (ESIC). He is also president of a readers’ club, member of the board of a philosophical association, and member of other associations related to the study of humanities.
His linguistics research interest focuses on the application of the FG and RRG to terminology, corpus and computational linguistics. His most recent research describes an ontology-based application of the notion of interval to verbs of movement. He is also researching on the pedagogical development of vocabulary teaching following the principles of the Constructional Grammar.
