Biodata Ángela Alameda

Ángela Alameda Hernández is currently Assistant Lecturer (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) at the Department of English and German Studies, University of Granada, Spain, where she teaches English Grammar and English for Specific Purposes. Her main research line is discourse analysis with a special emphasis on critical discourse analysis and media discourse. She got her PhD (Linguistics) with a thesis on the discursive construction of national identity focused on the community of Gibraltar. Her main contributions in this line have been published in a number of journals such as National Identities, The Linguistics Journal, Text Perspectives in Media and Academic Discourse, Interlingüística and Odisea.
She is also interested in computer innovation for teaching. In relation to this, she also holds a certificate (Experto Universitario) on “New technologies applied to teaching” from the University of Málaga, Spain, and she has been a member of some research groups: the Innovation Project “Virtual bilingualism: digital support for English learning at university level” and “Improvement of the web page of the Department of English and German studies”. She is also a member of the research group: Languages applied to professional and academic contexts, funded by the Regional Government of Andalucia (HUM 641), whose head researcher is Prof. Ángel Felices Lago.
